Teams Relay
The 2024 Top End Open Water Teams Relay is being undertaken at the Darwin Waterfront on Tuesday 1st October 2024. Check-in begins at 6:30am, with the race briefing being held at 7:15am. The 4 x 400m Relay will be starting at 7:30am and the 4 x 800m event will begin at the conclusion of the 4 x 400m event - approximately 8:00am. It is anticipated that the entire event will be finished around 9:00am.
The 2024 Top End Open Water Teams Relay

The Top End Open Water Teams Relay is an exciting new event added to the 2024 Country Swimming Championships in Darwin. Conducted on the day following the pool events, the Top End Open Water Teams Relay will give you the thrill of competing in an open water event in the Northern Territory - something that you can tell you friends and boast about your bravery (we can assure you it is completely safe). Taking place at the beautiful Darwin Waterfront Precinct in the completely sealed of Kitchener Bay, we will be conducting the following relay events:

A mixed 4 x 400m relay (2 female and 2 male swimmers per team)

A mixed 4 x 800m relay (2 female and 2 male swimmers per team)
If you are heading up without any club members, don't fear, we are only permitting individual entries and will build teams after nominations close. Of course, if you have your own team, they will be put together at the same time.

Completely sealed off from the ocean and riverways, this venue also hosts a wave pool and an aqua park as well as countless restaurants for a great family day out.
