The eligible age of swimmers for the Country Swimming Championships is 11yrs & older. In addition to our main event and to accommodate families coming to the event, we are also running, in conjunction with the 2024 County Swimming Championships, the 2024 Junior Age Challenge, open to swimmers aged 8-11yrs that are able to compete in all 50m events. Additionally, swimmers aged 9-11yrs are able to compete in all 100m events as well as the 200m Freestyle. There are no qualifying times for this events and will be found on Swim Central, when open, within the 2024 Country Swimming Championships event. Swimmers aged 11yrs that are entered into an event in the Country Swimming Championships are not permitted to enter that same event in the Junior Age Challenge. Thank you for your understanding.

This year, we have added the opportunity to say you have competed in an Open Water event in Darwin - the 2024 Top End Open Water Teams Relay - your friends will think you are fearless. Held at the Darwin Waterfront, this venue is, of course, completely safe and a great family location in the beautiful Darwin Waterfront precinct. Completely sealed off from the ocean and riverways, this venue also hosts a wave pool and an aqua park as well as countless restaurants for a great family day out. Even if you haven't got enough swimmers from your club, let us know and we will fit you into a team, where possible.

As outlined above, there are an enormous amount of activities available to participants this year from clinics, training days for coaches and officials, but the one we are excited about is the Pre-Event In-Pool Movie Night. Starting at 6pm on Thursday 26th September, this will be a great opportunity to hang out as a club and family, meet new friends and have a relaxing pre-event movie at or in the pool - your choice. All of our event food vendors will be available for dinner from 5pm, so it will be a great way to ease into the event. We will be asking for family friendly movie preferences closer to the event - so start thinking about your favourite movie.
