2023 Country Swimming Championships

​

The 2023 Country Swimming Championships is again going to be held at Parap Pool in Darwin from the 30th September until the 3rd October. Full details can be found in the Pre-Meet Information Booklet.

​

This year we are aiming to get more swimmers from more regional clubs visiting, ready  to have a great experience involving the sport they love, as well as enjoying the company of and making life long friends from around Australia. In addition to the undertaking of the Swimming Championships we are planning on making the trip very worthwhile for all stakeholders and participants by having a plethora of supporting activities taking place to make this a true festival of swimming.

Aside from an action packed 4 days of fast and intense heat and final swimming action, Swimming Northern Territory is looking forward to providing a range of activities for swimmers, coaches and technical officials, whilst providing a welcoming and fun atmosphere for all attendees.

​

These activities are outlined further on this website but Swimming Northern Territory is working to undertake the following:

​

  • Phoenix Foundation JX Clinic for 9-13yr old swimmers, hosted by Chelsea Hodges on Friday 29th September.

  • Development Coaching Course run by the SCTA (TBC) on Wednesday 4th October.

  • Training seminars for coaches with Australia's Performance Pathways team (TBC) throughout Championships.

  • Technical Official workshop outlining various topics such as soft skills development, pool deck conflict resolution, swim meet preparation, mock protest / jury of appeal exercises (held together with coaches), the learnings from the Melbourne World SC Championships and a general Q & A session on Friday 29th September.

  • Elite Athlete attendance and meeting opportunities throughout the Championship.

  • After meet Tourist Activity (Wed 4th Oct) to the Adelaide River Jumping Crocodiles and tour through world renowned Litchfield National Park - Unfortunately we have not been able to gain the support of any transport companies at a reasonable cost for this experience, so unfortunately, we will not be able to offer this experience.
